Budget

In 2024, the total budget of the Estonian Competition Authority was 4,850,651 €.


It should be clarified that this amount includes 600,000 € in compensation for the costs of providing the universal postal service (UPS), which is not used to finance the Authority’s operations. The total budget also includes the budget of the Insolvency Division, which amounted to 449,000 € in 2024, of which 250,000 € were allocated for personnel costs and 199,000 € for operating expenses.


Excluding the UPS and Insolvency Divsion, the Competition Authority’s budget for personnel costs was 2,879,689 € and for operating expenses 778,335 €. It is important to note that the operating expenses include costs related to the property located at Tatari 39 in Tallinn, which is shared by the Competition Authority, the Data Protection Inspectorate, and the Estonian Patent Office.


In 2024, the Competition Authority’s actual expenditures, excluding the UPS and Insolvency Division, totaled 3,392,633 €, of which 2,710,952 € were personnel costs and 582,342 € were operating expenses, of which property-related costs were 341,337 €.


The implementation costs of the Insolvency Division were 207,760 €, of which 192,257 € were personnel costs and 15,503 € were operating expenses.


The Competition Authority’s Cooperation and Support Services Division also provides HR services, training and event organization and asset management support to the Estonian Patent Office and Data Protection Inspectorate, both located in the Tatari 39 building.
